Collaboration in the Care of Veterans

Join VLS on Wednesday, March 30 (9:30-10:30 a.m., EST) for a free virtual panel discussion about the importance of medical-legal partnerships and the power of collaborative care in the prevention of veteran suicide. More than 17 veterans die by suicide every day, according to the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs.

VLS board member Nick Hasenfus, Esq., a Marine Corps veteran and associate at Holland & Knight in Boston, will moderate this important discussion. Panelists will include:

• Ellen Lawton, Esq., a senior fellow at Health Begins and the former director of the National Center for Medical-Legal Partnership,

• Sandy Levine, LICSW, a suicide prevention specialist at the Boston VA Healthcare System, and

• Caroline L'huillier, an Army veteran, former National Guard member, and a transgender advocate.
