Veterans Legal Services is pleased to announce that Goulston & Storrs in Boston is its 2021 Outstanding Pro Bono Award winner.
Over the past year, Goulston & Storrs has accepted seven different pro bono cases from VLS, providing advice and guidance to clients, successfully negotiating settlements, and analyzing the merits of specific claims. The firm has also volunteered its services in assisting VLS with multiple real estate matters.
“Goulston & Storrs is honored to receive this award,” said Darren Baird, Esq., a director at the firm. “We pride ourselves on pro bono service and on providing legal services to those in need. Our partnership with VLS has given us the opportunity to serve those that have served and sacrificed for us all, and for that we are truly grateful.”
This past October, Baird served on a panel for an event organized by VLS to discuss the importance of volunteerism and legal aid for Massachusetts military veterans in need. The virtual event was hosted by the Boston Bar Association, and sponsored by the Veterans and Servicemembers Law Forum, as part of its Pro Bono Month celebrations.
“Working with Goulston & Storrs is a truly gratifying experience,” said VLS Pro Bono Director Angie Vargas, Esq. “Darren and the team at the firm are always willing to lend a land with cases or projects, big and small. It’s just wonderful to have that genuine feeling of partnership.”
