Holland & Knight’s Hasenfus Elected to VLS Board

Updated: Jun 21, 2021

Veterans Legal Services is pleased to announce that Nicholas Hasenfus, Esq., an associate at Holland & Knight LLP in Boston, was recently elected to its board of directors.

Hasenfus served in the Marine Corps from 2006 to 2010, including tours in both Iraq and Afghanistan, and achieved the rank of sergeant. At Holland & Knight, Hasenfus has worked in the Intellectual Property Group since 2016. He has been co-chair of the firm’s Veterans Group since 2019, and helps oversee Holland & Knight’s military and veteran-related pro bono services.

“As a veteran, I am very fortunate and grateful to be elected to the Board of Directors of Veterans Legal Services,” said Hasenfus. “I am excited to support and further its mission to provide quality, life-changing legal services to the veterans of the Commonwealth who have served our country and defended our freedoms. This aligns well with my belief that every attorney should give back to the community.”

Hasenfus is actively involved in other veterans legal initiatives, including the Legal Services Corporation’s Veterans Taskforce committee and the American Bar Association’s Standing Committee on Legal Assistance for Military Personnel. He also serves as a mentor through the Boston Veterans Treatment Court.

A resident of Dedham, Mass., Hasenfus earned his J.D. from Suffolk University Law School and a B.A. in philosophy from Bridgewater State University.
